Manufacture of iron thermite and safety precautions?
I know how it is and I know the proportions to use. However, I few questions to anyone who has used, uses, or learn more about creating iron thermite than me. Firstly, given that termites is not explosive, it is not illegal possession or set up, correct? I have a few hard drives, I wish to destroy, Whereas Thermite and destroyed quite effectively, I use it to prevent data recovery. Second question. Fe3 and Fe4 are the two most commonly used types of iron used to make thermite. Is there a recognizable difference between rust and black iron? Thirdly, States wiki a thermite reaction releases a ton of UV radiation, and should not be viewed directly. Well, naturally I want see my HDD's burn to the ground, but is there a safe way to see the reaction? Welder's masks? Good sunglasses? Sunscreen? Any other information would be useful. And no, you do not talk about it. It will happen.
Well it's cool, am not going to get out of this well lol .. I did once to melt the hinge of a door tuition.lol well you need the same amount of aluminum powder, the finest, then you Need ironIII oxide, the color red Kinda, its .. no rust that might work (never tried), but ironIIIoxide is the best .... and yeah you need a ribbon of magnesium if possible ... it will not ignite with matches or lighters, even if it would be dangerous ... temperature increase generally at 2200 degrees Celsius ... so be careful ... and yeah no danger on the UV ... burn it with seconds .... it is not harmful. .. you could try welding masks if you can ... or sunglasses really good mix yeah .... hmmmm both Mg and place the ribbon to ignite .. have fun ...= o)
