Is there a limit to a team of MLB signing free agents in their right to vote?
I'm a fan of Tampa Bay Rays, and just absolutely fear 2011. Why? Rumor has it that perhaps both Carl Crawford and Cliff Lee are spoken by none other than our division rival the most hated The New York Yankees (I shudder at the name). Can a team with a lot of money just sign all the talent in their right to vote like that? Is even right? If they can, how can any team can compete with that? Of course, who is to blame, when there are so many bandwagon fans that buying in large teams (especially in football and baseball), just because they are good.
Actually, yes, there are limits the number of Type B and Type A agents a team can sign free, but there are several ways in which those limits can be bent, and in every time I follow baseball I do not remember the limit never be invoked as a reason why a team could not get a player of AF. The limits are set in the CBA, if you need to help you sleep at night.
