Why does the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM vibrate whenever I focus with the IS turned on?
I just bought a Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM lens. I was just wondering if this is normal, whenever I have the IS turned on, then focus(half press the shutter button), it makes a metal sound, then the lens starts slightly vibrating.
Thank you for your help.
This "vibration" and "clunk" doesn't happen with my 18-55 IS lens.
Its the IS at work. Its the same with my EF 70-200 f4L IS USM. after checking with Canon, it is the IS at work. Its a mechanical thing, so the sound will definitely be there. Guess this is your first IS lens? relax. its normal. Don't worry bout a thing.
