Why is it when I drink coffee, I have a caffeine rush, but when i drink green tea, I don't?
I heard that green tea in some cases has more caffeine in it per cup than coffee.
If this is true, how come if I drink green tea, I do not 'get hyper'?
Does it have something to do with how green tea is absorbed into the bloodstream?
For example, i drank 1/2 a cup of coffee (with milk) at 7am in the morning before school a week ago, and I was hyper for much of the day. It wasn't until around 2:00pm I suffered a 'crash'.
However, I drink 5 cups of green tea daily (without sugar) and I dont feel hyper at all.
In fact, it only very slightly increases my alert level.
Why?
You are correct in saying that tea does have a higher caffeine content than coffee which is suprising to most people however coffee has a quicker caffeine release giving you that rush or burst of energy " caffeine rush" however the come day is a bit shit.
however tea has alot slower more prolonged caffeine release rate giving you an overall run of the mill day. but you kind of feel a little bit better knowing youv had a cup of tea and arent going to die with your head on a desk suffering a come down dont you think
