Using a Dell XPS M1710 to use the design? Should I buy my software compatible with Vista?

I 'm looking into the XPS M1710 from Dell, as I understand it is primarily a gaming notebook, but as a graphic designer can someone tell me how It is for applications design using Photoshop, Flash, Carerra, Poser, 3D modeling, animation programs, etc.? For design, it is really benefit much more with a Core 2 Duo vs. Core Duo? Or is it Core 2 Duo is simply the best job for the players? Please explain your answers in depth. Thank you.

uctivyoviyovutcf7fvt78yvc t7oc680c0cv880v6yvy08y80v (which I beat my head against the keyboard) Dell XPS is just a name, it means nothing, they think they can charge more for it. For graphic design, I recommend the Inspiron 1720/1721. This model has a bright screen 17 inches. Then, I will recommend the Core 2 Duo T7250. It is not "meant" for gaming, it has supreme power processing, which contributes much games. But for graphic design, it will be great. Since it is a dell, I guess you can go with Vista Home Premium (I hope that your programs are compatible with Vista). 4 GB of memory would be nice to do the work and the use of Vista, but it is crazy expensive. 2 GB should be good enough, and you can always update when memory prices fall. Since you will not be done throughout the game, the graphics standard Intel X3100 should be enough good, not too bad if you want to play a game that is 3-4 years old. It is made to handle graphics in Vista, so they should work together. As for the hard disk, I do not know how much you will need to store, since you can get a 5400 rpm in the Inspiron, any size will do. The 160 is probably the best bang for the buck. You can add a DVD burner if you wish. With all these goodies and a good base warranty, you look at 1300 $. This emerges clearly below the price of an XPS and should have roughly the same performance. The only reason to possibly choose an XPS over the Inspiron is the ability to get a better graphics card (which you do not need) and the ability to choose Windows XP over Vista but pay almost 1K more for this option is not worth it. Good luck :-)
